The Restaurant
Sea view terrace, Mediterranean cuisine and a warm atmosphere in the heart of Sausset-les-Pins, on the Cote Bleue.
A Child of the South, a Passion for the Sea
Le Spot was born from the vision of Sebastian DE PALMA, a child of the Mediterranean coast, passionate about the sea and Provencal gastronomy. Located at 1 Avenue Jules Ferry in Sausset-les-Pins, facing the Mediterranean, the restaurant quickly became an essential address on the Cote Bleue.
The idea was straightforward: create a place where you come for a morning coffee by the shore just as easily as for a seafood dinner at sunset. A generous, welcoming spot where every guest feels at home.
Today, Le Spot welcomes local families and visitors exploring the Cote Bleue calanques alike. The cuisine stays true to its roots: fresh produce, daily fish and shellfish deliveries, and the expertise of a team that knows the Mediterranean inside out.

Sebastian DE PALMA and His Team
At the helm of Le Spot, Sebastian DE PALMA brings his personality to every detail of the restaurant. Born and raised on the Provencal coast, he grew up among the fishing boats of the old port and the local fish markets. This closeness to the sea is reflected in every dish.
In the kitchen, the team works with the day's catch with spontaneity. Fish and shellfish are grilled on the plancha, salads are made with market produce, and homemade desserts — tiramisu, fiadone, profiteroles — round off each meal on a gourmet note.
In the dining room and on the terrace, the welcome is warm and relaxed. The team knows their regulars by name and takes care of newcomers with the same attention. It is this family atmosphere that keeps guests coming back season after season.
The Sea View Terrace
Our terrace facing the Mediterranean is the beating heart of Le Spot. From breakfast to dinner, every table offers a panoramic sea view.

Restaurant in Sausset-les-Pins: Le Spot, Seaside Brasserie on the Cote Bleue
Le Spot is a restaurant in Sausset-les-Pins located directly on the seafront, at 1 Avenue Jules Ferry. Since opening, this seaside brasserie has established itself as a landmark address on the Cote Bleue for locals and visitors alike. Under the direction of Sebastian DE PALMA, a child of the Provencal coast, the restaurant combines Mediterranean cuisine, fresh seafood and genuine hospitality in a setting many establishments envy: a 78-seat sea view terrace on the Cote Bleue, open from morning to evening, seven days a week.
The Story of Le Spot: From a Passion for the Sea to the Table
Le Spot's journey begins with a conviction: a great restaurant goes beyond what is on the plate. There is the setting, the sea air, the slanting evening light over the Mediterranean, the sound of waves as a backdrop. Sebastian DE PALMA grew up between the port quays and the fish stalls of the Cote Bleue. This intimate knowledge of the coastline is reflected in Le Spot's philosophy: favouring short supply chains, working with the day's catch, and offering a menu that evolves with the seasons and local fishing. The restaurant's legal entity, LE MIRAMAR SASU (SIRET 501 024 517 00010, RCS Aix-en-Provence), reflects the establishment's deep local roots.
Varied Cuisine Driven by Mediterranean Produce
Le Spot's menu is deliberately broad and accessible. In the morning, from 8am, the restaurant welcomes those who want to start the day with a coffee facing the sea or a full sweet and savoury brunch. Pancakes, avocado toast with homemade guacamole and the now-famous Eggs McSpot are served Tuesday to Sunday until 11am.
At lunch, the daily set menu at 25 euros (glass of wine, main course, dessert and coffee) draws regulars and local workers. The dish changes daily according to the chef's mood and deliveries: one day it may be a whole sea bream grilled on the plancha, the next an Asian-style beef tartare. The full menu offers tapas to start (panisse, guacamole, tapenade), plancha-grilled seafood — sea bream, sea bass, prawns, octopus, cuttlefish — meats (entrecote with bearnaise, house burger, veal bocconcini), clam or prawn linguine flambeed with pastis, Caesar salads and homemade desserts ranked among the best on the coast.
In the evening, the terrace takes on a different character. Cocktails and spritz take centre stage: mojitos, Aperol spritz, Porn Star Martini, Moscow mule and a selection of original spritz varieties (lavender, raspberry, limoncello, St Germain). Non-alcoholic cocktails hold their own, with a Virgin Mojito and Virgin Colada that rival any for freshness. The wine list, focused on Provencal appellations (Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, Cassis, Cotes de Provence Minuty) and discoveries (Pouilly Fume, Vacqueyras), completes the experience.
The Sea View Terrace: 78 Seats with a Panoramic View
Le Spot's true asset is its terrace. With 78 seats spread between indoors and outdoors, every guest enjoys a direct view of the Mediterranean. On mistral days, the indoor dining room takes over with the same panorama behind glass. On sunny days — most of the year in the Bouches-du-Rhone — guests settle on the terrace to breathe in the sea air and watch fishing boats returning to port. This sea view terrace on the Cote Bleue is arguably one of the finest spots for lunch or dinner between Marseille and Martigues.
Sausset-les-Pins: a Character Village between Marseille and Martigues
Sausset-les-Pins is not your typical seaside resort. This Bouches-du-Rhone fishing village has kept its authenticity, with its small port, narrow streets and Provencal market. Situated midway between Marseille (35 minutes via the coastal D9 road or the motorway) and Martigues (15 minutes), Sausset-les-Pins is also served by the Cote Bleue train, a scenic railway line that hugs the coastline. Le Spot, as a restaurant between Marseille and Martigues, benefits from this central position making it a natural stop during a Cote Bleue outing.
The surrounding area is full of attractions: the coastal path towards Carry-le-Rouet, the calanques of Ensues-la-Redonne accessible on foot or by boat, the Cote Bleue marine park where you can spot grouper and posidonia, and the Provencal markets of Chateauneuf-les-Martigues. The Cote Bleue tourism office lists numerous activities to pair with a meal at Le Spot.
A Restaurant for Every Moment of the Day
Le Spot's strength lies in its versatility. At 8am, you will find regulars enjoying their daily espresso facing the sea. By 10am, tables fill with brunch-goers drawn by the pancakes and freshly squeezed orange juice. At noon, the daily set menu brings together workers and families. In the afternoon, waffles, crepes and artisan ice cream (over twenty flavours to choose from) satisfy walkers and beachgoers. And come evening, the mood shifts: cocktails flow, the plancha sizzles, and tables buzz with lively conversation under the southern stars.
Le Spot is not a place you pass through. It is a place where life happens, rooted in the daily rhythm of Sausset-les-Pins. Regulars have their table. Tourists discover an authentic side of maritime Provence. And Sebastian DE PALMA ensures, with his team, that every visit lives up to the promise the restaurant's name makes: being the right place, at the right time.
