Cocktail and Spritz Bar by the Sea in Sausset-les-Pins
On the Cote Bleue, between Marseille and Martigues, Le Spot is far more than a seaside restaurant. It is also a cocktail bar in Sausset-les-Pins where guests come to savour a drink facing the open sea, with their feet almost in the water. Our terrace, bathed in Provencal light until sunset, has become the meeting point for lovers of refined aperitifs and convivial moments by the Mediterranean.
A Cocktail Menu Designed for the Seaside
Our cocktail menu has been composed with this unique setting in mind. The mojito, classic or made with fresh fruit — strawberry, raspberry, passion fruit — is undoubtedly the most requested as soon as the warm weather arrives. Its balance of mint, lime and rum naturally pairs with the sea breeze that sweeps across the terrace. For those seeking a bolder touch, the Porn Star Martini, a blend of vanilla vodka and passion fruit served with a shot of prosecco, has become our signature cocktail. The Caipirinha, Moscow Mule and London Mule offer lively and refreshing alternatives, while the Pina Colada and Margarita transport the palate to more distant shores.
The Spritz, a Mediterranean Aperitif Ritual
The spritz has become the symbol of the summer aperitif across the Mediterranean in recent years. At Le Spot, we have developed a genuine sea view spritz bar with six variations for every taste. The Aperol Spritz, the best known, offers its bitter orange hue and festive bubbles. The Hugo Spritz, more floral with its elderflower liqueur, appeals to those who prefer sweetness. Our St Germain Spritz, made with elderflower liqueur and prosecco, is particularly appreciated in the late afternoon when the golden sunset light envelops the terrace. The Limoncello Spritz brings a typically southern citrus note, while our raspberry and lavender creations revisit this classic with Provencal flavours. Ordering a spritz at Le Spot means joining a ritual: slowing down, gazing at the sea and savouring the moment.
The Art of Sunset with a Drink in Hand
What sets a seaside cocktail on the Cote Bleue apart from a drink at any other bar is the scenery. In Sausset-les-Pins, Le Spot's terrace faces due west, which means the sun literally sinks into the sea before your eyes. This natural orientation makes our establishment one of the finest places on the Cote Bleue for a sunset aperitif. From May to September, the sky shifts through every shade of orange, pink and violet, a spectacle that renews itself each evening and accompanies your glass in a way no interior design ever could. It is this alliance between the taste of a fine cocktail and the raw beauty of the landscape that brings our guests back season after season.
Craft Beers and Exceptional Spirits
For those who prefer beer, our selection of draught and bottled options has been chosen with as much care as our cocktail menu. The 1664 and Grim blonde offer light and thirst-quenching options for hot days. La Chouffe, a Belgian beer with a bold character, is available in three sizes to suit every appetite. In bottles, the Corsican Pietra beers — amber, blonde and IPA — bring island character and personality that appeal to connoisseurs. Colomba, a wheat beer with maquis herbs, is a discovery for many of our visitors. Our spirits list also deserves attention: Don Papa Baroko rum with its vanilla and honey notes, Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva of incomparable roundness, and Nikka From the Barrel for Japanese whisky enthusiasts. Every reference has been selected to offer a quality tasting experience, in keeping with Le Spot's generous and convivial spirit.
Pairing Cocktails with Seafood
One of the most memorable experiences at Le Spot is pairing a cocktail with our cuisine. An Aperol Spritz pairs beautifully with a plate of freshly shucked oysters — the orange bitterness dialogues with the briny shellfish. A classic mojito elevates the flavours of salmon tartare with its lime and mint notes. For fish grilled on the plancha, a glass of prosecco or a Hugo Spritz provides a refreshing sparkle. Our team will be delighted to guide you through these pairings. To discover our seafood dishes, browse our full menu. And if you wish to start the day gently before aperitif hour, our sea view brunch is served each morning, Tuesday to Sunday.
